The Workshop Brand Identity
Creative advocate Ann Hatch invited Morla Design to create the total brand identity for the launch of The Workshop Residence. The Workshop invites artists to create beautiful, useful, and affordable objects in their on-site workspace and retail store. Morla Design created the identity, retail web site and signage. Working with a nominal fabrication budget, Morla painted the exterior barn door construction with a super graphic that overlapped their name into “work” and “shop”. When door slides open, the word “work” appears so that the passerby knows it is a working studio. The identity is handled in much the same way, using two colors to highlight both “work” and “shop”.
