The “Morla Collection” for Conde House is a line of dining chairs and tables designed by Jennifer Morla for the Japanese and American residential market. The collection debuted in Fall ‘02 with the “Verve Chair” as its signature piece. Manufactured out of hardwood and bent-ply birch veneer, the chair and table are featured in both a clear and pecan finish.
The chair seat is upholstered in a nubby, gray and cream, variegated fabric that evokes a mid-century aesthetic. Rising from the upholstered seat is a t-shape support, with a vertical stem and a crescent shaped back. The chair has a relatively small footprint, making it an ideal dining chair: comfortable, compact and classically modern.
The “Verve Table”, like the “Verve Chair”, is the marriage of a mid-century aesthetic with the practicality of a multi- leafed extension table. The curved pedestal bases reference the curved back of the chair, and allow for maximum seating configurations and leg comfort. The table top also curves very slightly to create a soft alternative to a straight rectangular top.
